Terms of Employment:

The Duration of the assignment is 1 (one) year from the commencement of work. Contract may be extended after performance analysis at the end of the term.

Remuneration:

Based on qualifications and experience.

Scope of Work

To play a foundational role in establishing the institute’s learning and academic systems while leading the design of industry-aligned curricula and training programmes. The role involves both hands-on design work and oversight of academic processes, ensuring that the institute develops rigorous, modern, and market-responsive education offerings from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Institution Building
  • Contribute to the development of academic systems, policies, and SOPs related to programme design, assessment, and quality assurance.

  • Develop and establish documentation and approval processes for courses, ensuring consistency, transparency, and institutional accountability.

  • Support the creation of pathways for micro-credentials, certificates, and future qualifications.

  • Explore and identify potential strategic partnerships — both local and international — to elevate the institute’s course offerings, strengthen quality, and enhance recognition.

Curriculum Development & Design
  • Lead the design of course curricula, including learning outcomes, structures, and assessment strategies.

  • Ensure programmes are responsive to labour market and public sector needs through targeted research, consultation, and collaboration with key institutions and agencies.

  • Develop or oversee the preparation of key course documents (outlines, facilitator guides, learner handbooks, assessment instruments).

Quality & Academic Standards
  • Oversee alignment of courses with recognised academic and training standards.

  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and academic board reviews.

  • Support external validation and accreditation activities where required.

Pedagogy & Delivery Innovation
  • Champion modern teaching and learning practices (active, digital-first, blended, project-based approaches).

  • Provide guidance and oversight to trainers and facilitators to ensure consistent, engaging delivery.

  • Integrate courses into the learning management system (LMS) and advise on the use of digital tools.

  • Support the development of multilingual learning content, including Dhivehi-language materials, and ensure accessibility for diverse and special-needs learners in line with inclusive education principles.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work with industry partners to validate curricula and ensure employability outcomes.

  • Collaborate with trainers, faculty, and academic staff to ensure coherence and continuous improvement.

  • Participate in academic governance processes and contribute to long-term strategic planning.

Qualification & Experience

  • Master’s degree in education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Studies, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or academic programme management.

  • Understanding competency-based education, micro-credentials, and accreditation processes.

  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to translate industry needs into curricula.

  • Experience developing curricula in technology-based learning or ICT-related disciplines is highly desirable.

  • Ability to balance hands-on design with oversight and governance.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Knowledge of education systems, policies, and academic governance.

  • Innovative, learner-focused mindset with comfort in digital and blended environments.
