A special ceremony was held in Addu City on the 2nd of September to mark the official launch of Addu City Council services through the oneGov platform.
Hosted at the Secretariat of the Addu City Council, the ceremony marked the culmination of several weeks of collaboration between Tradenet and the Council, including more than 11 days of on-site work in Addu City.
The ceremony featured speeches from Ms. Saeeda Umar, Managing Director of Tradenet, and the Mayor of Addu City, Mr. Ali Nizar, both highlighting the importance of this step in transforming local governance and improving service delivery for citizens.
Streamlined and Citizen-Centric Services
Through oneGov, the Addu City Council is introducing a faster, simpler, and more transparent way for citizens to access public services. Instead of navigating lengthy paperwork and multiple offices, residents will now be able to complete essential services through a single digital access point.
By re-engineering service delivery processes and moving away from legacy systems, the Council is ensuring that services are not only more efficient but also more accessible, reducing waiting times, cutting unnecessary steps, and making it easier for people to get things done.
This transition to the oneGov platform is more than just a technological upgrade; it is a step towards empowering citizens and improving everyday interactions with the council. It also reflects our shared commitment to realising the Maldives 2.0 vision of building a truly digital-first nation.
