oneGov is excited to announce that a key service from the Maldives Zakat House is now available through oneGov. This marks an important milestone in our joint effort with the Zakat House to modernise and digitalize their services and offer them seamlessly through oneGov.
Maldives Zakat House offers supplementary financial assistance to citizens struggling with medical expenses, going beyond the support provided by government-led social welfare programs. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by individuals in need, ensuring they receive the help necessary for their healthcare.
These expenses can include travel expenses, hospital room expenses, support to bear the cost of surgeries or treatments, support to bear the cost of medical tools/devices that patients require (Eg: a wheelchair), and more.
The aid offered by the Zakat House can often be a vital lifeline to citizens facing medical expenses, especially when they require support that exceeds what other social welfare systems provide. This additional assistance helps bridge the gap for those who find themselves in urgent need of financial help during challenging times.
We are pleased to initiate this journey by introducing the first service from the Zakat House as part of our multi-phase rollout plan.
Effective 4th November, the first Zakat House service available through oneGov is:
Medical Assistance Through Zakat Fund: This service can be used to apply for financial aid through the Zakat Fund for medical expenses.
In addition to this inaugural service, we are actively working with the Zakat House to offer additional services that will further enhance your experience in accessing public services in the Maldives.
With the arrival of the Zakat House services to oneGov, citizens will experience a streamlined application process with reduced paperwork, ensuring a more efficient and transparent digital service. For the Zakat House Staff, the adoption of oneGov will simplify workflows, minimise human errors, and enhance efficiency and transparency in processing applications with the help of oneGov Workplace.
Overall, oneGov enhances accessibility and effectiveness for both citizens and BCC staff in delivering public services.
We sincerely thank the Zakat House for their collaboration and trust in oneGov. Your support has been instrumental in reaching this milestone, and we look forward to continuing our partnership to further improve and expand the range of the Zakat House services on oneGov.
