Tradenet Maldives Corporation Limited is set to convene its first Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of 2025 at 4:00 PM today, 15th October 2025.
The meeting will bring together members of the Board of Directors alongside key stakeholders to discuss and endorse a major milestone in the company’s journey in assisting digitalisation of public services.
At the heart of the agenda lies a pivotal change. This change involves revisions to the company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, including the formal adoption of a new name and identity and alignment of company Articles of Association with model Articles formulated jointly by the Privatization and Corporatization Board and Ministry of Finance and Planning.
This transition follows a Presidential Decree issued by His Excellency, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, which mandates the restructuring and renaming of Tradenet to better reflect its broadened mandate in driving digital innovation across the nation.
The decree signifies the government’s commitment to accelerating the Maldives’ digital transformation agenda in line with Maldives 2.0 Roadmap and strengthening institutional capacity in the technology and innovation sectors.
This proposed transformation reflects the company’s expanding role beyond unified national platform operators for public service delivery to a role of acting as the innovation and technology arm of the Government.
Over the years, Tradenet has evolved into a key contributor to national digital transformation, powering platforms such as Tradian, which streamlines trade processes, and oneGov, a unified digital services portal connecting citizens, businesses, and government entities.
The new identity will symbolise a renewed commitment to innovation, digital inclusion, and the development of technology-driven smart solutions that empower the Maldivian public and private sectors alike.
It marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter as the company positions itself at the forefront of the nation’s journey towards a digital-first future.
