Zakat House Coming to oneGov: Expanding Access to Aid Digitally

Zakat House Coming to oneGov: Expanding Access to Aid Digitally

We’re excited to announce a new milestone in public service delivery in the Maldives. On 4 November 2024, the Maldives Zakat House will join the oneGov platform, making essential support more accessible and efficient for those in need.

This integration marks a major step toward transparent, streamlined services, ensuring that aid reaches vulnerable populations effectively.

About Maldives Zakat House

Established earlier this year, the Maldives Zakat House collects and distributes Zakat—an obligatory form of almsgiving in Islam—to support individuals facing financial hardships. As an additional layer of assistance, it complements other government welfare programmes by providing medical and other critical support.

By joining oneGov, Zakat House strengthens its role within Maldivian society, enhancing its ability to act as a reliable safety net and empower communities across the Maldives.

Medical Assistance through Zakat Fund

The Medical Assistance through Zakat Fund service offers essential support for individuals struggling with medical expenses. With oneGov, accessing this assistance is now simpler, faster, and more reliable, ensuring that support is provided when needed most.

As the Maldives' digital platform for public service delivery, oneGov promotes equality by extending access to all regions, reinforcing values of inclusivity and respect for everyone seeking assistance.

Accessing Zakat House Services on oneGov

From 4 November 2024, Zakat House services on oneGov will be fully digital, making the process easier for users nationwide. This shift from a manual to an online service provides 24/7 access, eliminating the need for physical visits. Here’s how to apply:

  1. Go to www.one.gov.mv.

  2. Search for and select ‘Medical Assistance through Zakat Fund’.

  3. Complete the application form following the step-by-step guide.

  4. Attach required documents.

  5. Submit your application.

oneGov’s service guides clearly outline eligibility and documentation requirements, making each step simple. Users can track application status in real-time, offering transparency and convenience.

How This Change Helps

The integration of Zakat House into oneGov provides timely, transparent aid access to everyone—wherever they are. This digital transformation of public services aims to make essential support more accessible for all and upholds the values of inclusivity and equal opportunity.

By using oneGov, Zakat House simplifies the process of accessing support, building a stronger, more supportive society for everyone.
