Terms of Employment:

The Duration of the assignment is 1 (one) year from the commencement of work. Contract may be extended after performance analysis at the end of the term.

Scope of Work

As a UX Engineer, you will bridge the gap between design and development by creating user-centered digital experiences for digitization initiatives. You will be responsible for designing intuitive interfaces, conducting user research, and implementing design systems that enhance user engagement with applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and prototype user interfaces

• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions

• Create and maintain design systems and component libraries

• Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs

• Analyze user behavior and iterate on designs based on data insights

• Ensure accessibility compliance and inclusive design practices

• Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders

Qualification & Experience:

• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on software development experience with proven track record of leading projects

• BS/MS in Design, Software Engineering, or related field preferred or equivalent experience with exceptional portfolio

• Demonstrated experience in user-centered design methodologies

• Track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope

Qualities & Skills

Technical Skills - Required:

• Advanced proficiency in React.js including advanced patterns, performance optimization, testing strategies, and modern ecosystem tools

• Design system development including component libraries, style guides

• Responsive design mastery for cross-device compatibility and mobile-first approaches

• Interaction design experience including micro-interactions, animations, and user flow optimization

• Strong visual design skills including typography, color theory, layout principles, and brand consistency

Technical Skills - Preferred:

• Proficiency in design tools including Figma, Framer, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools

• User research methodologies including interviews, surveys, persona development, and journey mapping

• Usability testing experience including test planning, moderation, and analysis

Professional Skills:

• Stakeholder management with ability to present and defend design decisions

• Cross-functional collaboration with developers and product managers

• Problem-solving abilities for complex user experience challenges

• Communication skills for articulating design rationale and user needs

• Agile methodology experience including design sprints and iterative development

• Understanding of citizen-centered design principles

• Knowledge of government accessibility requirements and compliance standards

• Experience with multilingual interface design (Dhivehi/English)
