Maldives Media Council Services Now Accessible on oneGov

oneGov is excited to announce that a key service from the Maldives Media Council (MMC) is now available through oneGov. This marks an important milestone in our collaboration with MMC to modernize and digitize their services, making them seamlessly accessible to the public.

The Maldives Media Council plays a crucial role in maintaining media freedom in the Maldives, investigating and addressing violations of that freedom, resolving complaints related to breaches of relevant Acts from the Constitution, and establishing guidelines to ensure media personnel and service providers operate responsibly within those standards.

This new partnership reflects MMC’s commitment to embracing innovative digital platforms to better serve the public.

We are pleased to initiate this journey by introducing the first service from MMC as part of our phased rollout plan.

Effective 11th December, the first Maldives Media Council service available through oneGov is:

  • Media Complaint Submission: This service allows citizens to submit complaints regarding any media content they find objectionable, misleading, or in violation of media regulations in the Maldives.

With the introduction of this service, citizens will experience a simplified application process with reduced paperwork and faster response times. For MMC staff, adopting oneGov will optimize workflows, minimize human errors, and enhance the efficiency and transparency of processing complaints through the oneGov Workplace.

This is just the beginning of our collaboration with the Maldives Media Council. We are actively working to introduce additional services that will further enhance your experience in accessing public services in the Maldives.
